Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband
Looking for an Activity Tracker?
Then the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity & Sleep Wristband could be the tracker you need to get you motivated, out and about and more active.
So what does the Fitbit Flex do?
The Fitbit flex is the most popular activity tracking device that Fitbit do.
The Flex wristband is made of a flexible, durable elastomer material similar to that used in many sports watches. It does not contain latex. The clasp is made of surgical-grade stainless steel and contains traces of nickel. However, as with any type of jewelry, some people may experience allergies in which should stop using it straight away.
So what are people saying about it?
Sleep Tracker feature
However despite its popularity it does come with it's fair share of problems. Some have said that the biggest problem with the FitBit is the sleep tracking feature in that it did not work the way they expected it to. Because it detects motion this can be problematic if you do not sleep well. Some have said in 'Normal' mode it gives almost no information but in 'Sensitive' mode it makes assumptions that you are wake if you move a lot. Whilst some on the other hand have found the FitBit's sleep tracking easy to use, the wrist strap, however, could be awkward for someone who doesn't sleep well.
Syncing with your PC or mobile device
One of the good things about using the Fitbit Flex is that it syncs your info to select Bluetooth 4.0devices . Instead of having to manually remove the device and plug it
into your
phone to sync, the FitBit will periodically wake up and connect to your phone, keeping your stats up to date.
The only problem at the moment is that wireless syncing tomobile still only works with a very limited number of devices. To check whether your mobile is compatible you can check on fitbit.com as some have experienced difficulties syncing with some Android devices. It is however, also compatible with iOS devices like iPhones and iPads, PC's and Macs.
With Google announcing Bluetooth Smart support as part of the OS, this should in theory give Bluetooth 4.0 syncing support to a much wider range of devices.
Battery Life
The trackers battery can last up to 5 days once fully charged even though some have complained about difficulties they have had with charging it. To charge you have to remove the tracker from the band and place it in the charger until all the 5 lights are solid. However if you are having trouble charging the phone try cleaning it with a damp cloth. The Fitbit website is very useful in resolving problems and a good point of reference is you get stuck.
Syncing with Fitness Websites
Another beneficial feature of the Fitbit Flex is its ability to sync to various fitness websites:
www.sparkpeople.com
www.fitbit.com
www.myfitnesspal.com
www.loseit.com
www.mapmyfitness.com,

"When I was having issues with mine last month they did replace it but everything had to be done through e-mail. As a matter of fact, there was a statement on their website that said they do not provide telephone support. Either way, I have to say that FitBit's customer service is top notch" (SlimKim)
I am seriously going consider buying a fitbit tracker once i've looked at the the range of other trackers fitbit has to offer especially like how they can sync with other fitness programes."My Fitbit died yesterday :( As an avid user, I feel naked without it. I called customer service and they are absolutely fantastic, they actually are sending one as we speak and they made it an absolutely wonderful experience!" (Buffalo)
